Iraq: Vietnam Redux?

Iraq, the realistic argue, is sinking deep into a quagmire. Going by the situation into the ground,this hardly seems an exaggeration. Suicide,bombing, abduction and massacres bordering on genocide have become the order of the day. Iraq which is bleeding on the bones, has become a failed country. It won't be an over statement to say that Iraq present a picture of a state on the verge of collapse.Death stalks every street and home in Iraqi cities.In the days immediately after Saddam's ouster, Suicide bombing and abduction were confined to the capital,Baghdad.But of late,as the insurgency has picked up steam, the various militias have spread to towns all over the country.
Not a single day passes without stark violence resulting in death of civilians and defence personnel.Instead of emerging victoriously from past-war reconstruction.Iraq has plunged into a crisis of governance, with a popularly elected but weak government, unremitting insurgency, hydra-headed sectarian strife and a region of terror by militia.If lack of security of life and livelihood weren't enough,the high rate of unemployment, food, scarcity, grinding poverty, rampant corruption and electricity crisis have only compounded the misery of common Iraqi in urban areas and rural hinterland.

TATA GROUP - Nation Builder

For over a century now, the name Tata has been a watchword for values that have withstood both the ravages of time and the vagaries of business.The Tata group is India' largest business house, with revenues of Rs 967,229 million in 2005-06, the equivalent of about 2.8% of India GDP.The group takes name from its founder,Jamsetji tata.

Jamshetji Tata was born into a parsi family on march 3,1839.His first business initiatives were cloths mills in the interior if of Maharashtra. In 1903, he built the first large hotel in India,the TajMahal Hotel,in Mumbai.This was the foundation for the Indian Hotels Company,which runs the renowned Taj Group of Hotels.Tata steel was India's first private iron and steel company, established in jamshedpur in 1907.His dream was to make India the most advance nation in the world. To this end, the group diversified into various industries such as consumer goods, aviation and locomotive and motoring manufacturing.The Groups main business are spread over seven important sectors: services, materials, engineering, energy, consumer products, chemicals and communication and information system. In a move that stunned the business world in January 2007, Tata steel clinched a deal to buy the UK based Corus Group Plc. one of the leading steel producer,for 6.7 million pounds.

The Tata Group's objective has always been to improve the quality of life in the communities it serves.Its contribution to India's education, science and technology is widely documented and appreciated.The Group has, over decades, made many pioneer initiatives in aviation, steel industry, hospitality, consumer durables and corporate welfare.

Shearer- The Legend

Alen Shearer was born on 13 August 1970 in Gosforth,is a retired english professional footballer who played for Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United as a striker.He enjoyed his successful club and international carrer during which he scored 422 goals .At the age of 17 years and 240 days he scored hat-trick againest Arsenal on 9 April 1988 and become the youngest player to score hat-trick in premiership. He started his carrer from Southempton (1988-1992 )then he moved to Blackburn Rovers in £3.3 million.His first season with Blackburn was mixed where he missed half season due to injury (right anterior cruciate ligament) but was regular face in english squad . After returning from injury he scored 31 goals in 40 league game and finished second in premiership behind Manchester United, but they won premiership next season , this was the only honour in his carrer.He quickly followed it up with a personal award winning the PFA Players' Player of the Year.
He captained his country 34 times and managed to go to only semifinal of euro 92.In euro 96 he scored 5 goals and was golden boot winner.In 1995-96 season he scored 31 goals, managed by Kevin Keegan,who was keen to get service of Alen and finally Alen Shearer moved to Newcastle United in £15 million making Shearer the world's most expensive footballer at the time.In Newcastle United he stayed for ten years and scored 206 league goal, in premiership he scored 260 goals "a league record".Shearer announced that he would retire at the end of the 2004-05 season, but influenced by Newcastle manager Graeme Souness, he decided to continue playing but three games remaining Alen Shearer suffered a tear to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee after a collision during the 4-1 win at Sunderland, that was his last game of his carrer.

From his 63 caps, he scored thirty goals, joint-fifth in the England all-time goalscorer.Shearer was named as: Overall Player of the Decade, Domestic Player of the Decade, Outstanding Contribution to the Premier League and Top Goalscorer.He spent 2006 summer as a pundits for world cup,he is now trying to get UEFA Pro License to coach in EPL.

David Beckham (David Robert Joseph Beckham) was born 2 May 1975 in Leytonstone,London.His father David Edward Alan "Ted" Beckham was a kitchen fitter and manchester united fan.As a manchester united fan his father used to travel manchester to watch manchester united home game.Beckham starts his football carrer from Tottenham Hotspur' school of excellence. During the two year
period he played for Brimsdown Rovers' youth and was named Under-15 Player of the Year in 1990.
Soon he attract manchester united and then made his first Premier League appearance for Manchester United on 2 April 1995. During that season he scored winner againest chelsea.In season 1996-97 beckham scored his wonder goal againest Wimbledon from half line. He played his first england international on 1 September 1996, in a World Cup qualifying match against Moldova.He was famous for his trade mark free kick from which he score against Ecuador, but still their is no majour success in international carrer.David beckham married to spice girl Victoria Adems and has three sons.During his manchester united carrer he won 6 premier league title,1 Intercontinental Cup,4 time Community Shield Winner,2 FA cup,one champions league title in which he took the final two corner from which manchester united scores.He played more than a decade for manchester united.
In 2003 he moved to Real Madrid in 35 million euro but their was not to many success for him,in 2007 he moved to LA GALAXY in multi million doller move and is still going on.He was named Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 and named as one of Time magazine's "Time 100 Heroes & Icons".He is Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF.
